Trying something new on a Saturday Night!

I was in Orlando this last Saturday. I was hanging out at the bar and I decided to go out on a limb and try something new for a change.. for me it is rare, but I was in a rare mood. : )

I tried some Nigori Sake. It is a cloudy milky looking drink served cold. It has a nice refreshing and sweet flavor.. a lot different than the regular house sake. It was only $15 for a bottle.. but since you drink it from a small cup by the sips, it really went a long way. I ordered some things from the Robata Grill... I think I had the bacon wrapped enoki mushrooms and a beef skewer..

All it all it was a good sake drinking experience... and to top off the night.. I saw Ken Griffey Jr.'s Bentley parked outside the restaurant.. that is one nice car!

Our Bathrooms are Pretty Sweet!

That's right! I said it.. but it's true! We have a almost transparent wall separating the men and women's room with a gap at the top, so you can hear what it going on. It also has a cool hand dryer with Japanese kanji on it and the sinks are pretty cool too.

Naked Sushi

For our Ladies Night kickoff event, we had a artistic display of naked sushi. Also called traditionally, Nyotaimori. It was very tastefully done and added to the ambiance and decor of the night. There were several people snapping photos and admiring. Although there were people who didn't care for it, it paled in comparison to those who really liked it.

Arigato Mr. Robata - Robata Grill that is!

So.. what makes Dragonfly unique compared to the hundreds of restaurants in Orlando. Well.. besides our full range of premium sake and unique sushi selection and array of other cooked items. There is one thing that sets us apart from the pack. That thing is our Robata Grill. Not like the flat grills that hibachi restaurants use. This is a grill that uses "white charcoal" called binchotan. We import these coals from Japan and heat them up to an incredible 1,000º. This instantly sears the food locking in the natural flavors and delivery a pure and flavorful experience for our guests. The robata items are also modestly priced and there is a large selection of meats, seafood and vegetables to choose from.

Best Sushi In Orlando?

Being the marketing guy for Dragonfly, I am somewhat biased in my opinion and naturally so, but having said that, I will say that while Orlando has a lot of places with very good sushi... I truly and honestly believe that we have the best.. but I don't want you to take it from me.. I challenge anyone who is a self-proclaimed sushi snob to get out to Dragonfly in Orlando and see for yourself. I know that once you try us, you will be hooked... just like the others. : )
